2021 TCBI FIP WEBINAR 2

Air Pollution: Practical guidance on how to minimise the impact of air pollution on health

Air pollution poses a serious threat to the environment and exposure can cause a variety of health implications, including effects on lung function and increased risk of respiratory infections. There is a proactive role for community pharmacists to provide advice and support to mitigate the impact of air pollution on patients’ health and quality of life.

This webinar, organised by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and GSK’s scientific initiative, The Clean Breathing Institute (TCBI), provides examples of the services and tools which can be used by community pharmacy teams to help enable patients to breathe better and help minimise the impact of air pollution on health.

The webinar content is designed to support pharmacists to:

  • Describe the role that they can play in mitigating air pollution in the community
  • Identify the different tools available to them to enable the reduction of the impact of air pollution in the community
  • Understand the various arrays of services that community pharmacists can employ in supporting better breathing and helping minimise the impact of air pollution on health
