2021 TCBI FIP WEBINAR 1
Outdoor and indoor air pollution: the short- and long-term effects on health
The effects of air pollution must be addressed urgently – not only as a threat to the environment, but also as a threat to respiratory health. The International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and Haleon's scientific initiative, The Clean Breathing Institute (TCBI) created a webinar to explore the multiple ways air pollution can be harmful to health and disease management. A better understanding of air pollution and health is vital for pharmacists to develop effective interventions, services and solutions to address this growing problem.
The webinar content is designed to support pharmacists to:
- Identify the ways in which outdoor and indoor air pollutants impact human health
- Understand the short- and long-term impact of air pollution on health
- Understand clinical, pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments including preventative measures available to minimize impact of air pollution on health
- Illustrate how air pollution might change the type of professional services offered by pharmacists
